Game Recap
Preseason Scrimmages: Zero Frowns
By Coach Gould
The Lions played their first two games this month, and what a start! Both scrimmages were about learning the game, making friends and having fun.
Two games, lots of smiles
Saturday, October 17 vs the Bears. Our home opener ended in an 8-6 win for the Lions, but the best parts happened around the score. Some players made their very first baskets, and the cheers from the sideline were even louder than the baskets. Our passing was the real star: ball after ball found a teammate, and the whole team celebrated every one.
Wednesday, October 21 at the Hawks. On the road we played a friendly game that ended in a tie. Nobody kept an official score, and nobody minded. Lions hustled after loose balls, practiced dribbling with both hands and made new friends on the Hawks. The high-five line after the final whistle may have been the best play of the day.
What we are proud of
- Great effort from every single player
- Teammates passing the ball and cheering for each other
- Good sportsmanship toward both the Bears and the Hawks
Thank you, families, for the energy you brought to both games. Practices begin November 4, and our season opener is Saturday, November 7. See you on the court!
Go Lions!
